METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam Double X Opens Reservations Ahead Of February 2027 Release
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam X, the Gundam Double X is joining the METAL ROBOT SPIRITS lineup.
The GX-9901-DX Gundam Double X was developed by mobile suit engineers of the newly formed New United Nations Earth (NUNE). The team recovered the wreckage of the GX-9900 Gundam X used by Jamil Neate during the 7th Space War and incorporated some of its systems into the new mobile suit.
The Gundam X was also used as the base unit during development, as creating an entirely new design proved difficult. The Double X features a distinctive design with its large reflector units and Satellite Cannon mounted on its back.
For the METAL ROBOT SPIRITS release, the figure uses die-cast joints along with plating, polarizing foil, pearl finishes, and metallic paint. The reflector, energy radiator, and Satellite Cannon can also be deployed without swapping parts.
The included accessories consist of three types of interchangeable wrist parts for both hands, replacement antenna parts, a defense plate, the DX-exclusive Buster Rifle, two Hyper Beam Sword effect parts, various joint parts, and a dedicated display base.
The METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam Double X is priced at 24,200 yen including tax. Reservations open September 4, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. JST, with shipping scheduled for February 2027.
