Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3 Officially Announced for PS5 and PC

Bandai Namco has officially announced Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3, the latest installment in its free-to-play team battle action series. The game is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, with cross-play support allowing players on both platforms to battle together.

Revealed during the Gundam Games 40th anniversary livestream, Battle Operation 3 features upgraded graphics, new combat mechanics, and an expanded mobile suit roster featuring units from across the Gundam series.

The game retains the series' signature online team battles, where players take on the role of mercenaries piloting mobile suits. Players can also leave their mobile suits and fight on foot, plant bombs at enemy bases, call in support fire, and secure important objectives.

Mobile Suits From Gundam SEED Join the Battle

One of the biggest changes in Battle Operation 3 is the expansion of its mobile suit lineup beyond the Universal Century.

Mobile suits from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED will be available at launch, with Bandai Namco planning to add two to three more Gundam series during the game's first year of operation.

Mass-production mobile suits will also join the lineup, with the BuCUE confirmed as one of the units planned for the game.

New SP Skills and Battle Assist

Battle Operation 3 introduces SP Skills for every mobile suit, giving each unit additional abilities that can help turn the tide of battle.

The game also adds a Battle Assist feature designed to make complex controls easier and help players execute combos more smoothly.

These additions build on the series' team-based combat, where players must coordinate with teammates and take advantage of their mobile suits' individual strengths.

Upgraded Graphics and Cross-Play

Compared to Battle Operation 2, the new game features upgraded graphics, including improved mobile suit models, maps, and player avatars.

The game will launch simultaneously on PlayStation 5 and Steam, with cross-play support allowing players on both platforms to join the same battles.

Release Date and Platforms

Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3 is currently in development for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.

The game will be free-to-play, with some paid content. Its official release date has not yet been announced.

Bandai Namco has also announced an early network test for existing Battle Operation 2 players in Japan. Applications open on October 29, 2026, with test sessions scheduled for November 20 and November 22.

With mobile suits from new Gundam series, expanded team combat, and upgraded visuals, Battle Operation 3 is shaping up to be an exciting new chapter for fans of the franchise's online battles.
