Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO's Gouf Ignited Custom gets an HGCE Gunpla release in April 2027

Gunpla fans have another reason to look forward to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO, as Bandai Spirits has announced the HG 1/144 Gouf Ignited Custom, a new Gunpla release based on the mobile suit's appearance in the upcoming movie.

Scheduled to arrive in April 2027, the kit will retail for 3,190 yen, including tax in Japan. It joins a new lineup of High Grade kits tied to the latest chapter of the Gundam SEED story.

The Gouf Ignited has a familiar connection to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY, where the mobile suit was used by ZAFT forces. Its design combines a powerful armored frame with close-combat equipment, giving it a very different fighting style from the more familiar Gundams piloted by Kira Yamato and Athrun Zala.

The Custom version announced for SEED FREEDOM ZERO gives the mobile suit another chance to shine. Its appearance also adds an interesting new entry to the growing lineup of Gunpla based on the SEED FREEDOM project.

The kit will feature Bandai’s SEED Action System, designed to provide a wide range of articulation for dynamic posing. Its design and newly molded parts will recreate the GOUF Ignited Custom as it appears in SEED FREEDOM ZERO.

The timing is also worth noting. The kit is scheduled to arrive in April 2027, following the January theatrical debut of Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO in Japan. The film is also scheduled to reach North American theaters in February 2027.

With the original Gundam SEED anime celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2027, the Gouf Ignited Custom is part of an especially exciting period for the franchise. Between new movie-related Gunpla and renewed interest in the series, there will be plenty for SEED fans to look forward to.
