You Can Now Sleep Inside the RX-78-2 Gundam’s Shield

STRICT-G and NANGA have apparently answered that very specific question.
The two brands have teamed up for a seriously fun RX-78-2 Gundam Shield Sleeping Bag, which lets you climb inside a giant recreation of the Gundam's shield and turn it into your own mobile suit-sized sleeping setup.
Yes, the sleeping bag is actually inside the RX-78-2's shield.
It might be one of the funniest pieces of Gundam camping gear yet, but it is also built with some serious NANGA sleeping bag tech. The outer fabric and lining are both made from 100 percent nylon, while the filling uses 80 percent down and 20 percent feathers. The sleeping bag is also produced in Japan.
The Regular size is designed for people between 166 and 178 cm tall, so there should be plenty of room to channel your inner Amuro Ray without having to sleep in the Core Fighter.
Priced at ¥68,200 including tax, this is definitely premium camping gear. But honestly, how many other sleeping bags let you tell your friends that you're literally sleeping inside the Gundam's shield?
The STRICT-G x NANGA RX-78-2 Gundam Shield Sleeping Bag is scheduled to ship in October 2026, with reservations ending August 16 at 10:00 a.m.
And if you miss the first batch, a second batch is scheduled to ship in November 2026.
