Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM MSV Serialization Confirmed, TAMASHII NATIONS Items In Development
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM MSV has officially been announced as a new Mobile Suit Gundam SEED side story, with serialization confirmed for Monthly Hobby Japan.
The new project will begin with the December 2026 issue of Monthly Hobby Japan, which goes on sale in Japan on October 23, 2026. The announcement was made on September 25 through the official Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM website and Hobby Japan.
The project continues the SEED MSV format that originally ran alongside the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED television series. The new series will focus on Mobile Suit variations connected to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM and the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO.
According to Hobby Japan, the project will feature new setting artwork by Kunio Okawara and other designers, Mobile Suit settings by Shigeru Morita of Studio Nue, and newly produced model builds by Hobby Japan's modelers.
SEED MSV Returns After 20 Years
The announcement also confirms the return of the SEED MSV series after roughly 20 years.
The original Mobile Suit Gundam SEED MSV was developed as an official side project through Monthly Hobby Japan during the original SEED era. It was followed by additional projects including SEED MSV Senki, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY MSV, and DESTINY MSV Senki.
The new SEED FREEDOM MSV continues that format with new Mobile Suit variations designed for the current Cosmic Era timeline. The December issue will also feature a special look back at the previous SEED MSV projects, alongside new model builds based on Mobile Suits featured in the earlier MSV releases.

First Mobile Suit Already Revealed
Hobby Japan has already provided an early look at the first Mobile Suit scheduled to appear in the new series.
The design was previewed in the November 2026 issue of Monthly Hobby Japan and on Hobby Japan Web ahead of the full serialization. Its official name and detailed specifications have not yet been announced.
The first chapter will provide the full details when Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM MSV officially begins in the December 2026 issue.
TAMASHII NATIONS Developing Related Items
Alongside the magazine series, TAMASHII NATIONS is already developing related products based on SEED FREEDOM MSV.
The official announcement states that these items are being planned as products for GUNDAM-Con 2027 SIDE MAKUHARI, the Gundam 50th anniversary celebration event scheduled for January 9 through January 11, 2027, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba.
The promotional visual specifically carries the GUNDAM FIGURE branding alongside the SEED FREEDOM MSV logo and the Japanese text 商品化企画進行中, indicating that product development is currently underway.
No specific Mobile Suit figure, TAMASHII NATIONS product line, price, or release date has been announced yet. Hobby Japan also states that further details for the related items will be revealed through the official event information.
With the first chapter arriving in October and related figure products already in development, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM MSV will add a new collection of Mobile Suit variations to the SEED FREEDOM era while continuing the MSV format that has been part of the franchise for more than two decades.
