The One Year War has been explored from countless perspectives across the Gundam franchise, and one Futabasha MOOK brings many of those stories and details together in one place.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Universal Century History BOOK: One Year War Edition is a 128-page B5 reference book focused on the conflict that shaped the early Universal Century. It was released in Japan on September 27, 2024, as part of the 45th anniversary celebrations for Mobile Suit Gundam.

The book takes a detailed look at the One Year War, covering its major events, characters, mobile suits, mobile armors, battlefields and the technology used by both the Earth Federation and Principality of Zeon.

The original Mobile Suit Gundam sits at the heart of the book, but the coverage extends across other One Year War stories as well. Material from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO, Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team, Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket and Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt is also featured.

One section follows the One Year War's chronology, while another looks at the major battlefields and events across the conflict. There are also dedicated sections for the Earth Federation and Zeon, along with character profiles and a mechanical file covering the mobile suits and mobile armors that fought throughout the war.

The book also explores the Universal Century itself, including space colonies, Sides, terminology and the development of mobile suit technology.

With 128 pages packed around one of the most important conflicts in Gundam history, the Universal Century History BOOK: One Year War Edition is a solid reference for fans who want to dig deeper into the One Year War and the many stories that have expanded it over the years.
