P-Bandai HG 1/144 MS-06RD-4 High Mobility Prototype Zaku Returns in February 2027

The P-Bandai HG 1/144 MS-06RD-4 High Mobility Prototype Zaku is set for a reissue in February 2027.

The MS-06RD-4 was first seen in Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team and was later featured in the Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN MSD (Mobile Suits Discovery) project. The experimental mobile suit was developed under a top-secret Principality of Zeon military project involving Zeonic and Zimmad, with the goal of adapting the Zaku for space combat while testing technology that would later be used on the Rick Dom.

The mobile suit combines the upper body of an MS-06R series Zaku II with a lower body based on the development of the MS-09R Rick Dom. Its leg units were used to test the thermonuclear rocket engines intended for the Rick Dom, with the leg design also noted for its ease of maintenance and engineering quality.

The HG kit recreates the distinctive purple, blue, and black color scheme with colored molding. New parts reproduce the characteristic head, chest, shoulder armor, waist, backpack, legs, and feet, with detailed sculpting throughout.

A newly sculpted MS machine gun is included, featuring a different design and detailing compared with the standard Zaku II machine gun. The kit also comes with a Heat Hawk, new waist joint parts for storing the weapon, and multiple interchangeable hands.

Original marking decals are included to complete the High Mobility Prototype Zaku's distinctive appearance.
