RG 1/144 THE GUNDAM BASE LIMITED FREEDOM GUNDAM Ver.GCP arrives in the U.S. via Premium Bandai in September

The RG 1/144 THE GUNDAM BASE LIMITED ZGMF-X10A FREEDOM GUNDAM Ver.GCP is heading to U.S. Premium Bandai this September, bringing the special version of Kira Yamato’s iconic mobile suit to GunPla fans in the United States.

The Ver.GCP version is based on the life-size Freedom Gundam statue in Shanghai, China, which officially opened at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Shanghai Jinqiao in May 2021 as part of the Gundam China Project. Bandai developed the GunPla with newly molded parts and details inspired by the massive statue.

The kit features revisions to the original Real Grade Freedom Gundam, including changes to its proportions and several exterior parts. The rail cannons also feature a color treatment based on the Shanghai statue.

Special parts are included to recreate the distinctive pose of the life-size Freedom Gundam. Support parts help hold the large wing binders in position, while dedicated hand parts allow builders to achieve a more accurate recreation of the statue’s stance.

The kit also includes realistic marking decals inspired by the markings seen on the Shanghai statue, along with the Freedom Gundam’s standard equipment, including its beam rifle, beam sabers, and shield.

Originally released in Shanghai in 2022 before receiving a release through The Gundam Base Japan in 2023, the RG Freedom Gundam Ver.GCP is now headed to U.S. Premium Bandai. The kit is priced at US$50.00 and is scheduled to ship in September 2026.

Pre-orders opened on August 11, 2026 at 8:00 PM EDT and will close on August 24, 2026 at 2:59 AM EDT.
