20 Days Before the Unicorn Gundam Statue Retires
The countdown is officially down to 20 days.
On August 31, 2026, the life-size Unicorn Gundam statue at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba will conclude its nearly nine-year exhibition. With just 20 days left, fans now have one final chance to see the iconic RX-0 in its special Ver. TWC FINAL design.
It is honestly a little hard to believe that the countdown has reached this point. The statue was completed on September 24, 2017, and has stood in Odaiba ever since, becoming a must-visit destination for Gundam fans from Japan and around the world.
For its final appearance, the statue has been given special decals designed by mechanical designer Hajime Katoki, and is being presented as RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Ver. TWC FINAL. The special decoration will remain until the statue's final day on August 31.
From August 22 through August 31, the statue will feature a new nighttime presentation titled “UNICORN GUNDAM Statue ― BEYOND POSSIBILITY ―.” The special program will run at 8:00 PM as part of the final 10-day schedule, alongside several other Gundam video presentations.
For anyone who has visited Odaiba over the years, seeing the Unicorn Gundam standing outside DiverCity has probably become one of those memories that feels inseparable from visiting Tokyo. Soon, those familiar nighttime shows, transformation sequences, and massive RX-0 towering over the plaza will become memories of their own.
With 20 days remaining, there is still time to see the Unicorn Gundam one more time before its final day on August 31.
