The Gundam Base Osaka To Open In February 2027 As Osaka Expands Its GunPla Presence
Osaka is getting a major new destination for GunPla fans, with THE GUNDAM BASE OSAKA officially announced for February 2027.
The new store will open on the 11th floor of LUCUA SOUTH in Umeda, with approximately 371 tsubo of floor space. It will be the first THE GUNDAM BASE location in Osaka and is planned as one of the largest Gundam Base stores in western Japan.
A New Gundam Base Comes To Umeda
THE GUNDAM BASE OSAKA will feature a wide selection of GunPla alongside Gundam apparel, stationery, accessories, snacks and other merchandise.
The store will also offer special exhibits and GunPla building experiences, giving visitors more reasons to spend time inside the store beyond shopping.
BANDAI SPIRITS says the new location will let visitors enjoy Gundam through buying, viewing and building, creating a new destination for fans in the heart of Umeda.
Following The Opening Of BANDAI HOBBY CENTER OSAKA
The announcement comes shortly after BANDAI SPIRITS revealed plans for BANDAI HOBBY CENTER OSAKA in Sakai City.
The new production facility is scheduled to begin operations in November 2026 and will be BANDAI SPIRITS' first plastic model production factory in western Japan. The facility will have approximately 3,360.85 square meters of floor space and seven multi-color injection molding machines.
BANDAI SPIRITS says the Osaka facility is being established to strengthen its plastic model production system and improve logistics by taking advantage of Osaka's transportation infrastructure and access to western Japan's export ports.
With BANDAI HOBBY CENTER OSAKA scheduled to begin operations in November 2026 and THE GUNDAM BASE OSAKA following in February 2027, Osaka will see two significant Gundam-related developments within just a few months.
